Sweetbay Magnolia is grown for its creamy-white, lemon-scented flowers in May and June and attractive silvery backs of its leaves. Depending on winter harshness, some or all leaves drop in late Fall and reappear in early Spring.
'Keltyk' is an improved selection of Sweetbay that is both more cold-hardy (for zone 5 and 6 planting with less leaf drop during the winter) and a more narrow growth habit than the species.
Unlike Southern magnolias, Sweetbays thrive in damp to even wet, soggy soil as well as ordinary garden soil.

Rate of Growth
Keltyk' Sweetbay magnolia matures at about 20-25' tall by only 15' wide. Expect 1-2' of growth a year.
Where to Plant
Plant in all-day sun to quite heavy shade. Sweetbays thrive in wet areas of the garden as well as in ordinary garden soil.

    Whether you're located in Upstate South Carolina or Upstate New York, we're thrilled you've dropped by our site! Currently we offer either 1) curbside pickup or 2) local delivery within 50 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

    Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply for out of state orders made in error.
    Warranty/Returns

    We stand behind the quality of our plants and make every effort to ensure that your purchase is healthy and true to its name. We'll help you find the right plant for the right place and give you advice to make your garden successful.

    If your tree or shrub doesn't survive for twelve months, we ask that you return the dead plant along with your receipt and we will give you a store credit for 50% of your purchase price. Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
