Courtnie Lichtenfelt

As Co-Owner of Lichtenfelt Nurseries, Courtnie is always working hard to improve our offerings and processes behind-the-scenes. Courtnie manages our financial initiatives and social media channels, but one of her favorite things to do is review landscape designs with customers. She says, “I love being in the weeds - tackling challenging locations and making substitutions to ensure the cohesiveness of landscapes is my bread and butter.”

Design Style: Courtnie enjoys creating gardens with diverse textural interest that feature unexpected plant combinations, like blending Japanese maples and conifers into a cottage garden style.

Meaghan Cleary

Meaghan is our Retail Front End Manager at Lichtenfelt’s. Meaghan has an AAS in Horticulture Technology from Spartanburg Community College and studied Agricultural Education at Clemson University. She says, “I’ve come full circle! I started at the nursery in 2019, left to work on research farms at Clemson, and now I’m back!” Meaghan’s hands are full with the day-to-day challenges of managing a retail nursery, but she loves to consult our customers on plantings and design choices whenever she can! She says, “One thing I love about designing is incorporating plants that bring people joy.”

Design Style: Meaghan’s style is modern cottage with a twist. She says, “I love taking something simple and popping in color with plants like Anise, Red Buds, Shades of Pink Viburnum, and all perennials. Perennial gardens and shade gardens are by far my two favorites!”

Lydia Sellers

Lydia is our newest team member! Lydia received her B.A. in Communication Studies from Clemson University in 2016. She joins us with 7 years experience in the tech industry, having devoted the last 3 years to transitioning her career into horticulture and design. While studying Horticulture at Spartanburg Community College between 2021-2022, she fell head over heels for landscape design, propagation, and plant breeding. Lydia will be building and growing our design program as a full-time Design Specialist.

Design Style: She says, "I'd describe my style as romantic. I like creating loose, flowing gardens fitted into evergreen rooms that are immersive and full of flowers for our local pollinators. I’m especially drawn to plants with sweet scented flowers or foliage."

Veronica Houston

Veronica is our residential landscape design partner. Veronica received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Mississippi State University and has been designing in the Southeast for over 30 years. She is currently licensed in South Carolina.

Design Style: Veronica says she’ll have what you’re having. She’s happy to create a design catered to your style.
