Size

One of the best conifers for adding maximum height with minimal width to the sunny or shady landscape, Upright or "Columnar" Irish Yew is a staple in many landscapes throughout Europe and the Americas alike. Dark green needles form a dense column, and coral-red berries appear towards the latter half of the growing season for added interest.
Irish Yew can also be formed into a hedge for a more manicured look in formal landscapes.

Botanical Name
Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata'
Rate of Growth
Upright Irish Yew grows to about 8-10' tall by only 2-3' wide in 10 years, eventually maturing larger with age. In containers where roots are restricted, plants will mature much smaller.
Where to Plant
A very adaptable plant, Irish Yew can be planted in full sun to quite heavy shade.
