This striking dogwood variety captivates with its deep burgundy spring foliage that transitions to brilliant crimson in fall. The flowers emerge nearly black before opening to a rich dark red, rivaling 'Cherokee Brave' in intensity. A moderate-sized specimen, it produces abundant fruit in late summer and early fall—a vital food source for migrating birds and wildlife seeking nourishment before winter. The layered color progression from leaf emergence through seasonal change makes this a year-round focal point in any landscape.
