What affects how a plant looks?

Seasonal changes
Many plants look dramatically different throughout the year. Deciduous plants may flower in spring, grow full foliage in summer, change color in fall, and appear dormant in winter.

Plant maturity
Photos often show mature plants so you can see their long-term beauty. Younger plants in the nursery are still growing toward that size and shape.

Supplier photography
Some images come from our growers to help illustrate mature flowers, color, or growth habits that may not be visible year-round.

Even if a plant looks smaller or different than the photo today, it has the potential to grow into the beautiful specimen shown.

Tip: Plants in winter may appear dormant but are still healthy and ready to grow in the spring.

Size

Evergreen clematis is one of the finest evergreen vines we offer. Even when not flowering, the leathery evergreen leaves look terrific draped over a trellis, fence or arbor! 2-3" snow-white, fragrant flowers cover the vine in late March and early April in our area.
Also attractive when planted in containers on a deck or balcony and allowed to twine along railings and down handrails.

Rate of Growth
Plants grow quite quickly to 10-15' long by 4-6' wide. May easily maintain as a smaller plant by trimming a time or two during the spring when the plants are actively growing. Expect 4' or more growth each spring.
Where to Plant
Plant in sun to light shade. Plants perform best in winter if sited in a spot which does not receive lots of cold winter wind. Plant near a building or under the cover of tall trees for best winter foliage.

    Currently we offer either local pickup or local delivery within 30 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

    Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply to orders made in error.

    From store to door, we offer low cost local deliveries for your convenience.

    1. Pick Your Plants

    Select your plants from our fresh, beautiful offerings. We currently offer delivery within a 30 mile radius of our nursery. We do not ship material via USPS, FedEx, or any other service.

    2. Determine Your Price

    Deliveries within 30 miles are charged at 5% of the order total with a $75 minimum fee. This allows us to fairly compensate our delivery driver while also providing value for larger loads.

    3. Select Your Date

    We'll be in touch within 2 business days to schedule a time that works best for both parties. Our driver can unload and stage plants at any site directly accessible with our delivery vehicle.
    Warranty/Returns

    Lichtenfelt’s is committed to providing healthy, pest-free plant material to our customers. Because successful growth becomes a shared responsibility once a plant leaves our care, we split the risk with you.

    If your tree or shrub fails within twelve months, please return the plant along with your receipt for a 50% store credit. We ask that you bring the plant back so our experts can help troubleshoot what happened—ensuring your next one thrives! We’re in this together.

    Note: Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
