One of the oldest selections of Black Pine to be introduced into the nursery trade, ‘Kotobuki’ loosely translates to “congratulations” or “long life” in Japanese. Whether it’s name stems from its candle-like cones that signify the beginning of new growth or some other unknown attribute, ‘Kotobuki’ deserves to be celebrated as a striking, if diminutive, dark-green specimen in any landscape.
