Also known as "Fortune's Tea Olive", this evergreen Southern favorite is grown for its FRAGRANT WHITE flowers in FALL and deep-green leaves.
We have a "tree-formed" Fortune's planted along the main drive and above the teak sitting bench and a line of 'Fortune's planted as a hedge between Anderson Ridge Road and the nursery garden. Both were planted in 2001.
Fortune's Tea Olive is more cold-hardy than Fragrant Tea Olive and may be planted further north of us. However, Fragrant Tea Olive is perfect cold-hardy in our area.

Osmanthus fortunei

Plants mature at 10-15' tall and wide in 10 years, at a rate of 12-18" a year.
