Few plants offer the texture that 'Soft Caress' provides in the shady garden border. Slender, bamboo-like foliage forms an evergreen, medium-sized shrub. In early winter, bright-yellow flowers stand atop the foliage like fingers of light. Perfect in an Asian garden.
Plant alone as a specimen or space 3-4' apart in groups of three or more in a shady spot in the garden.
NOTE: We see very little difference between 'Soft Caress' and 'Narihari' mahonia - same leaf texture, flowers and mature height and spread.

Rate of Growth
Soft Caress' mahonia matures at 3-4' tall and wide, at a rate of about 6" a year.
Where to Plant
Plant in a spot that receives a bit of shade from the hottest part of the afternoon summer sun or even in very shady spots.

Whether you're located in Upstate South Carolina or Upstate New York, we're thrilled you've dropped by our site! Currently we offer either 1) curbside pickup or 2) local delivery within 50 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply for out of state orders made in error.
Warranty/Returns

If your tree or shrub doesn't survive for twelve months, we ask that you return the dead plant along with your receipt and we will give you a store credit for 50% of your purchase price. Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
