Grown for its beautiful "exfoliating" (peeling) bark AND
'Dura-Heat' has been developed to grow smaller than other River Birch AND to have virtually no summer leaf-drop!
Trees grow quickly, but mature at about half the size of other birch, making them a good choice for spots too small for larger trees.
Leaves are smaller, darker green and glossier than other birch - It is this glossiness which helps to retain moisture and avoid leaf-drop. Leaves turn brilliant yellow before dropping for winter.

Rate of Growth
Dura-Heat' grows quickly but matures at 20-30' tall by 15-20' wide, at a rate of 2-3' a year.
Where to Plant
Plant in sun to light shade. All birch have vigorous root systems. Plant 100' away from septic systems. Plant anywhere if you are on a sewer system.

    Whether you're located in Upstate South Carolina or Upstate New York, we're thrilled you've dropped by our site! Currently we offer either 1) curbside pickup or 2) local delivery within 50 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

    Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply for out of state orders made in error.
    Warranty/Returns

    We stand behind the quality of our plants and make every effort to ensure that your purchase is healthy and true to its name. We'll help you find the right plant for the right place and give you advice to make your garden successful.

    If your tree or shrub doesn't survive for twelve months, we ask that you return the dead plant along with your receipt and we will give you a store credit for 50% of your purchase price. Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
