Also known as "Feather Reed Grass", 'Karl Foerster' blooms in spring rather than in fall like other grasses. PINKISH plumes open in May for nearly 2 months atop 3-4' tall foliage.
Foliage is deep green and shiny, emerging in early spring and lasting though frost. Cut to about 12" for winter.
Plant in groups of three or more as a backdrop for low-growing flowering perennials or as a single specimen in the border.
Voted Perennial Plant of the Year in 2001.

Rate of Growth
Karl Foerster' matures at only 3-4' tall by 2-3' wide. Expect plants to reach mature width after 2-3 years in the garden.

Plant in sun. Plants are very drought-tolerant after their first year in the garden.

    Whether you're located in Upstate South Carolina or Upstate New York, we're thrilled you've dropped by our site! Currently we offer either 1) curbside pickup or 2) local delivery within 50 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

    Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply for out of state orders made in error.

    If your tree or shrub doesn't survive for twelve months, we ask that you return the dead plant along with your receipt and we will give you a store credit for 50% of your purchase price. Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
