A hybrid between the Southeastern United States native Carolina Allspice and an Asian species, 'Aphrodite' offers glossy green foliage set off by large RUBY-RED flowers in late spring or early summer. Its scent is described a multitude of ways, from pineapple to bubblegum to anywhere in between. Regardless of smell, this fascinating selection deserves a spot in your landscape.

Rate of Growth

Aphrodite matures at 6-8' tall and wide, but can easily be maintained at 4-5' tall and wide with once-a-year pruning.

Where to Plant

While we have typically recommended planting in a spot which receives a bit of shade from the hottest part of the afternoon summer sun, Proven Winners says it can be planted in part sun to even full sun.

Whether you're located in Upstate South Carolina or Upstate New York, we're thrilled you've dropped by our site! Currently we offer either 1) curbside pickup or 2) local delivery within 50 miles of our location. We do not currently have any shipping capability to send plant material out of SC.

Please, do not order plants or hard goods if you live out of state. A 10% restocking fee will apply for out of state orders made in error.

Warranty/Returns

We stand behind the quality of our plants and make every effort to ensure that your purchase is healthy and true to its name. We'll help you find the right plant for the right place and give you advice to make your garden successful.

If your tree or shrub doesn't survive for twelve months, we ask that you return the dead plant along with your receipt and we will give you a store credit for 50% of your purchase price. Annuals, herbaceous perennials, and tropicals are not covered under this warranty.
